Aimee Hume

I started my career in childcare in 2000 as a nursery practitioner, after spending 2 years at college completing a BTEC national diploma in Childhood studies. I was then able to study my Level 4 whilst working as a Third In charge. I was then promoted to Deputy Manager and did this role for 7 years. My setting maintained an Outstanding Ofsted rating during 4 consecutive inspections. Since 2018 I have worked as a nursery administrator and in nursery recruitment. It was the perfect sidestep for me to get the best balance of work and family life.

Since August 2023 I have been working at Fledgelings as the HR manager, I am responsible for recruiting new staff members to our nurseries. I follow all the safer recruitment processes to ensure the children are safe and being looked after by the best people in the childcare sector.

When I am not working, I like to spend time with my favourite people, especially my son. I have been fortunate that my son was able to attend my nursery whilst I was working, and he loved his time there, and I do believe nursery has helped shape him into the confident and caring person he is today.
