Our Baby’s are the youngest children in the nursery. They join us from 3 months old and stay until they are turning two. It is all about navigating the journey from being a little baby to a confident toddler. There is lots of space for our Baby-Room to live in including a peaceful cot room, their own dining room, two big rooms for free flow that include an indoor sandpit, stimulating sensory corner, story area and lots of opportunities for messy play. We also have a garden allowing our Baby’s to run around and explore.
Our specifically equipped baby room provides a warm and nurturing environment where your baby can explore and learn. The embedded key person system ensures continuity of care and enables the staff to really get to know your baby’s needs. Building excellent relationships with you, your child’s key person will expand home routines within the setting, so you can be confident of the best possible care.
Children join our Toddler room when they turn 2 years old and stay with this caring team until they are about 3. This is a particularly exciting time as they develop many new skills and gain a great deal of independence. Our toddlers enjoy two spacious rooms, connected by double doors that remain open for most of the day, allowing for free flow between the spaces. At lunchtime, we close the doors to create a quiet, peaceful area for naps, while the other half remains lively and active for those who are still awake.
Potty training is a common milestone at this age, and all children have easy access to toilets and potties, encouraging them to learn and practice independently. The toddlers enjoy their own garden area, which includes three distinct learning zones, and they frequently explore our outdoor classroom. In addition to their dedicated garden space, they also share our magnificent large gardens with the preschoolers, providing even more opportunities for outdoor play and learning.
The room features a large area for role play and loose parts play, with direct access to their own garden, a small art studio, and two cozy rooms designed for stories, small world play, and the development of early school skills like writing. Being three or four years old is a magical time, with rapid learning and knowledge growth that becomes evident almost every day.
Creating stimulating and exciting learning opportunities that inspire children to eagerly jump into nursery every day is at the heart of what we do in our Investigators room. Each child is assigned a key person who carefully observes their progress, tracks their development, and teaches them new skills along the way. During their time in Investigators, children learn to become fully independent in their daily routines and skills, ensuring they are well-prepared to take care of themselves when they start school. We also gently introduce familiar school-like activities, such as circle time and show and tell, to help ease their transition to the next stage of learning.
