Annemarie Davis
Welcome to our nursery! My name is Annemarie Davis, and I am delighted to serve as the Nursery Manager here. With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, I am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing, safe and stimulating environment for your children to thrive.
My journey in early childhood education began in 2005 when I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. I have always worked in a nursery environment and as my skills grew, I naturally progressed into the next job role and have enjoyed several roles throughout the years, such as, room leader, third in charge, deputy manager. Before joining Fledgelings in 2018 I had a short career break, after several months I missed childcare and my passion for early years brought me to Fledgelings. I am passionate about providing the best care and education for children and undertake regular training to not only keep my skills refreshed but also to learn new skills that will make a difference to the lives of children. In November 2022 I gained my Level 3 Certificate for SENDCo’s in Early Years and I am also a trained Mental Health First Aider.
As the Nursery Manager, I am dedicated to ensuring that our nursery provides a safe, caring, and enriching environment for every child. My responsibilities include:
Quality Education: Overseeing the development and implementation of a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the developmental needs of all our children.
Staff Development: Supporting and mentoring our dedicated team of educators through ongoing training and professional development to ensure they are equipped with the best practices in early childhood education. This includes sharing my knowledge with them and supporting their continuous professional development by sending them on training to keep their skills and knowledge refreshed and updated.
Parent Partnership: Building strong relationships with parents, fostering open communication to understand and meet the unique needs of each family. I pride myself on fostering a strong partnership with parents and building a bond with families.
Operational Excellence: Managing the daily operations of the nursery, including maintaining health and safety standards, budget oversight, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children under our care.
I firmly believe that early childhood is a crucial stage of development and that a positive nursery experience lays the foundation for lifelong learning and develops the skills children need to thrive as they grow. My vision is to create an environment where children feel valued, confident, and curious to learn about the world. I emphasise the importance of play-based learning, encouraging children to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace and encourage children to express their individual characters and personalities.
When I'm not at the nursery, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I like to spend time in nature and have an interest in photography, resulting in numerous sunset pictures! I am also an avid reader which also involves reading early childhood education literature. My passion for early years means that I do research and am signed up to various subscriptions that give ideas, theories and view points on various aspects of early childhood, all of which I bring into the nursery and share with my team to ensure we make Fledgelings Romford the best place for your child.
