Charlotte Seymour
Welcome to our nursery! My name is Charlotte Seymour, and I am delighted to serve as the Nursery Manager here. With nearly a decade of experience in early childhood education, I am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for your children to thrive.
From being a young dancer myself and developing into helping teach them naturally, when finishing school I went straight into studying for my childcare qualifications. Before stepping into my first nursery role in 2016. Stepping foot into my first early years nursery and being based in the room with babies I knew I was in the natural career for myself. While being in nursery environments I quickly discovered my passion for working with young children. From 2016 I have held different roles within the early years field, from practitioner, into room leader and into senior roles in both EYFS and Montessori run environments. I believe in a strong level of parent partnership and have seen the impact on children’s development from this.
As the Nursery Manager, I am dedicated to ensuring that our nursery provides a safe, caring, and enriching environment for every child. My responsibilities include:
Quality Education: Overseeing the development and implementation of an embedded engaging curriculum that meets the developmental needs of all our children, and ensuring that the planning is adapted around the children’s interests.
Staff Development: Supporting and mentoring our dedicated team of practitioners with ongoing training and professional development meetings to ensure they are equipped with the best practices.
Parent Partnership: Building strong relationships with parents to work together and support the children while they are in our care. Alongside developing open communication with each family to understand and meet their individual needs.
Operational Excellence: Managing the daily operations of the nursery, including maintaining health and safety standards, budget oversight, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
I believe that early childhood is a crucial stage of development and that a positive nursery experience lays the foundation for lifelong learning. At South Hornchurch I am dedicated to create an environment where all children feel valued, confident, and curious. I believe in the importance of play-based learning, and children having the opportunities to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace.
When I'm not at the nursery, I enjoy spending quality time with my large family and being creative. I like to make gifts and always be explorative with new ideas. I enjoy going to new places and exploring new surroundings.
From working with a range of families throughout my career I understand the trust and responsibility you place in us at the setting, and I am committed to making our nursery a second home for your children.
