Claire Tickton
Welcome to our nursery! My name is Claire Tickton, and I am delighted to serve as the Nursery Manager here. With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education, I am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for your children to thrive.
My journey in early childhood education began in 2009 as a student, where I attended Barking and Dagenham College for three days a week and done a two-day placement at a local Nursery to build up my skills to enable me to pass my Childcare qualification. In 2011 I received my Cache Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. I then started full time employment at the same Nursery I completed my placement in where I become a baby room leader, a few years later I become a Deputy Manager and then in 2016 I become a Nursery Manager.
As the Nursery Manager, I am dedicated to ensuring that our nursery provides a safe, caring, and enriching environment for every child. My responsibilities include:
Quality Education: Overseeing the development and implementation of a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the developmental needs of all our children.
Staff Development: Supporting and mentoring our dedicated team of educators through ongoing training and professional development to ensure they are equipped with the best practices in early childhood education.
Parent Partnership: Building strong relationships with parents, fostering open communication to understand and meet the unique needs of each family.
Operational Excellence: Managing the daily operations of the nursery, including maintaining health and safety standards, budget oversight, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
I firmly believe that early childhood is a crucial stage of development and that a positive nursery experience lays the foundation for lifelong learning. My goal is to create an environment where children feel valued, confident, and curious. I emphasise the importance of play-based learning, encouraging children to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace.
When I am not at the nursery, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I have a dog and enjoy going on long walks to country parks and the beach. I enjoy reading, listening to music and socialising with people.
